Legend says that in the sixteenth century when the Saracens tried to land, they were driven out by the armies led by San Domenico da Guzman, hence the event gave name to this place.
The beauty and charm of Sbarcatore dei Turchi were told by Cervantes, the writer of Don Quixote who fought against the Turks here and also by Tomasi di Lampedusa in the novel The Siren.
More recently, the place has been the setting for two films: Casanova ’70 by Mario Monicelli and Le Grand Bleu by Luc Besson.

Built in the 1960s as an Hotel, it is an example of architecture of the time, the generous hall and large panoramic terraces host several lounges in a relaxing atmosphere of the past century: the Fluid Bar, a Vintage Boutique and a food area Once Upon at Time.
